A reference list of the security and queue metrics that matter for a bank branch, and what each one tells you.
A bank branch has to manage two very different kinds of risk at once — physical and fraud security, and the everyday customer experience of getting served without a long wait. These are the metrics worth tracking consistently across both, and what each one actually tells a branch manager.
Access Control events
Access control data — who entered a staff-only or cash-handling area, and when — is one of the most basic and most useful branch security metrics. How often to review these

Queue wait time, accuracy and false-positive rates are better tracked weekly, since day-to-day variation is mostly noise and the underlying trend is what actually matters for a staffing or system-tuning decision.
Worth tracking as a shared checklist item, not just individually: a branch that reviews all five side by side once a week — access events, watchlist accuracy, false-positive trend, queue wait time, and after-hours flags — catches a developing problem long before it would show up in any single metric reviewed in isolation.
Reading them together
None of these numbers tells the full story alone — a branch with excellent security metrics but consistently long queues still has an unhappy customer base, and a fast-moving queue with a poorly-tuned watchlist system still carries real risk. Tracking both categories side by side, rather than optimising one at the expense of the other, is what keeps a branch genuinely well run.
